Lesson 22 / 24 · 30 min · preparation time

Review the signals that help you decide

Choose measurements that relate to the purpose you set in Stage 4. Views and streams can show reach, but returning listeners, conversations, sales or attendance may tell you more about a specific goal. Early results are information, not a verdict on your music.

Work through it

  1. 1
Return to your stated release purpose and review date. Gather a small set of relevant figures and observations. If you have no platform data, use feedback, direct enquiries and completed preparation.
  2. 2
Compare actual spending and time with your plan. Note what took more effort than expected.
  3. 3
Write one thing to keep and one thing to change, supported by what you observed. Avoid declaring a channel a failure from a very small sample.
  4. 4
Choose a small adjustment you can test next: a clearer profile, a better listening link, a different live venue or a more sustainable posting rhythm.

You are ready to move on when…

You can leave an application or outside reply pending. Record the next step before moving on.
